Toomaj Salehi must be released immediately!

Toomaj Salehi, an Iranian Rapper, has been sentenced to death by a revolutionary court in Isfahan on charges of “corruption on earth”, “cooperation with a foreign government” and “inciting riots”. This is despite the fact that earlier Toomaj was released for a while and the Supreme Court had considered a lighter sentence for him.

Salehi in his songs supported the months of protests in Iran in 2022-23, sparked by the death in police custody of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Kurdish Iranian young lady arrested for wearing an “improper” head scarf.

The intention of the Islamic Republic of Toomaj Salehi’s execution plan is to create terror, an atmosphere of despair among the youth and prevent them from participating in possible street protests.
