نامه به گزارشگر ویژه سازمان ملل: درخواست آزادی نرگس محمدی و سایر دستگیرشدگان در مشهد
درخواست برای آزادی فوری و بلاشرط بانو نرگس محمدی و سایر دستگیر شدگان در شهر مشهد، ایران، حین برگزاری مراسم سوگواری مرگ خسرو علیکردی، وکیل حقوق بشر

احتراما، این نامه را با نگرانی عمیق در مورد دستگیری و بازداشت اخیر خانم نرگس محمدی به همراه چند نفر دیگر در مشهد، ایران، به شما می نویسیم. این موج دستگیریها به ویژه نگرانکننده است، زیرا در شرایط سوگواری عمومی پس از مرگ آقای خسرو علیکردی، وکیل حقوق بشر، رخ داده است. مرگ ناگهانی و مرموز او بسیاری از افراد جامعه را عمیقاً تحت تأثیر قرار داده است.
گزارشها حاکی از آن است که خانم محمدی و خانم سپیده قلیان، به همراه دیگران، صرفاً به دلیل شرکت در تجمع سوگواری یا ابراز غم و اندوه و همبستگی در رابطه با مرگ آقای علیکردی، به شدت مورد ضرب و شتم قرار گرفته و بازداشت شدهاند. جرمانگاری سوگواری و ابراز مسالمتآمیز غم و اندوه جمعی، نقض جدی حقوق اساسی بشر، از جمله آزادی بیان، تجمع و عقیده است. خانم محمدی برنده جایزه صلح نوبل و مدافع شناختهشده حقوق بشر است که فعالیتهای مسالمتآمیز او مدتهاست بر دفاع از کرامت انسانی، عدالت و آزادیهای اساسی متمرکز بوده است. به نظر میرسد دستگیری او، در کنار دیگران در مشهد، بخشی از یک الگوی گستردهتر سرکوب با هدف ساکت کردن جامعه مدنی و ارعاب کسانی است که در اقدامات مدنی و بشردوستانه مسالمتآمیز، از جمله سوگواری برای کشتهشدگان، شرکت میکنند.
مرگ آقای خسرو علیکردی و واکنش مقامات دولتی به سوگواری عمومی برای او، نگرانیهای جدی در مورد مسئولیت پذیری، شفافیت و احترام به کرامت انسانی آن مقامات ایجاد میکند. دستگیریهای بعدی نگرانی در مورد نقض سیستماتیک تعهدات ایران تحت قوانین بینالمللی حقوق بشر، از جمله منشور جهانی حقوق مدنی و سیاسیT توسط جمهوری اسلامی را تشدید میکند.
ما از شما و سازوکارهای مربوطه سازمان ملل متحد خواستاریم که از مقامات ایرانی بخواهید خانم نرگس محمدی و همه افراد دیگری را که به دلیل اعمال مسالمتآمیز حقوق اساسی خود، از جمله حق سوگواری، بازداشت شدهاند، فوراً و بدون قید و شرط آزاد کنند. ما همچنین از سازمان ملل متحد میخواهم که شرایط پیرامون مرگ آقای علیکردی، نحوه برخورد با سوگواران و شرایط حبس افرادی که بازداشت شده اند را از نزدیک زیر نظر داشته باشdد. از توجه شما به این موضوع فوری و خطیر و تعهد مستمرتان به دفاع از حقوق بشر سپاسگزاریم. در صورت نیاز به اطلاعات بیشتر در این زمینه، مشتاقانه آماده دیدار حضوری یا دیدار در فضای مجازی باشما در هر زمان می باشیم.

Subject: Urgent Appeal Regarding the Arrest of Narges Mohammadi and Other Detainees in Mashhad, and the Death of Khosro Alikordi, a Human Rights Lawyer
Dear Ms. Mai Sato,
UN Special Rapporteur on the Islamic Republic of Iran
We are writing to you with deep concern regarding the recent arrest and detention of Ms. Narges Mohammadi, along with several other individuals, in Mashhad, Iran. This wave of arrests is particularly troubling as it has taken place in the context of public mourning following the death of Mr. Khosro Alikordy, a human rights lawyer, whose mysterious sudden death has deeply affected and is under question for many in the community.
Reports indicate that Ms. Mohammadi and Ms. Sepideh Gholian, along with others, were beaten harshly and detained simply for participating in mourning gathering or expressing grief and solidarity in connection with Mr. Alikordi’s death. The criminalization of mourning and peaceful expression of collective grief represents a serious violation of fundamental human rights, including freedom of expression, assembly, and belief.
Ms. Mohammadi is a Nobel Peace Prize winner and well-known human rights defender whose peaceful activities have long focused on defending human dignity, justice, and fundamental freedoms. Her arrest, alongside others in Mashhad, appears to be part of a broader pattern of repression aimed at silencing civil society and intimidating those who engage in peaceful civic and humanitarian acts, including mourning the dead.
The death of Mr. Khosro Alikordi itself, and the authorities’ response to public mourning for him, raise serious concerns about accountability, transparency, and respect for human dignity of those authorities. The subsequent arrests only deepen fears of systematic violations of Iran’s obligations under international human rights law, including the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
We respectfully urge you, and the relevant United Nations mechanisms, to call on the Iranian authorities to immediately and unconditionally release Ms. Narges Mohammadi and all others detained for peacefully exercising their fundamental rights, including the right to mourn. We also ask that the United Nations to closely monitor the circumstances surrounding Mr. Alikordi’s death, the treatment of mourners, and the conditions of detention of those currently imprisoned.
